Sarkar – 1951

“Sarkar”– was a novel type of Costume Melodrama, starring Veena and Ajit in the lead with Shashikala and Ulhas in supporting roles.

It had some very melodious songs – beautiful lyrics were penned by Qamar Jalalabadi and set to great music by composer Pt. Gobind Ram. Check the YouTube links below.

Shashikala acted in 2 movies directed by K.Amarnath – first in Mohan Pictures “Sarkar” in 1951 – then again 20 years later – in 1971 under K.Amarnath’s own banner production – “Woh Din Yaad Karo”.
